Douglas Online Haul

Douglas is great, when ordering online I get 2 free samples of my choosing and a little gift extra, this time I got even more and a 5 € coupon for Douglas! I feel spoiled haha Here are some of the things I wanted to get for a long time (and I will review everything!):

The stuff on the left was for free: A Clinique Age Defense BB cream, a sample sized Clinique Superbalm Moisturizing Gloss in raspberry, a Vera Wang Princess Perfume Sample and a Shiseido Restoring Cream. I only chose the perfume sample and the gloss, everything else was added as an extra present!

Kracie happy Kitchen Donuts

Here’s something completely make-up-unrelated! I bought a lot of 5 different Kracie Happy Kitchen Sets for about 15 € on ebay and wanted to show you one! Basically Kracie Happy Kitchen are from Japan and are sweets that you make yourself with the powder that is inside such a kit and add water to it to change it into a form of gelatine. I don’t know the ingredients and not all sets are sweet (I have a Kracie Burger Set that’s supposed to be savory) but they are all more fun to make than eat. They taste ok but honestly making gummy mini sushi, bento or donuts is more about the process!

This is all that was inside! Some bags with powder, a spoon to stir, some decoration stuff and the plastic into which you pour the powder and water! It’s very easy to make and there are english instructions on the internet! I had no problem with the bags because they are all written in katakana which I still can read. It’s such a mircale how out of the mixture of powder and water a cookie-dough like substance is created haha

The donuts were actually very tasty in my opinion, I loved the pink strawberry frosting! It was hella fun, too! I might show my other sets!

Review: P2 Perfect Face BB creme

Because I was so happy with my Catrice BB creme ( read here ) I thought I’d give another drugstore BB creme a try (usually I use my Shiseido one or Dior right now). I bought the P2 Perfect Face Beauty Balm for 5 € for 30 ml! There are 2 shades, light and dark, I bought 010 light.

I have to say that the tube is really small in my opinion. And that is strange because the Catrice BB creme is 30 ml, TOO, but it appears to be more because of the long tube and here it’s such a stub…whatever (it will probably be more difficult once the BB creme is almost empty to get the rest out). 

This BB creme has SPF 15, not too high but very common for BB cremes. I never believe advertising like “24h moisturizing”, that’s just impossible. More important for me is whether the coverage is ok and whether it’s good for my skin.

It’s kinda very dark for a 010 Light. And orangey. I was able to blend it in but still i am kinda appalled that they couldn’t just create a truly light shade! That can’t be so hard! Ok here’s the most important, the wearing pic:

I look strange on those pics…maybe because of the flash? Anyways, the finish and coverage remind me very much of the Catrice BB creme (both pretty good), it looks ok blended in and not too dark in my opinion. The downside is that it seems to be of a thicker consistency than the Catrice one and so wearability is not that great, I feel a little bit caked on though I only have the BB creme on! It’s ok for the price but I’d still go with Catrice here than p2.

DKNY Sweet Delicious Pink Macaron

Usually DKNY is too fruity for me, but when I heard about the limited edition from 2012 I just had to have it! DKNY Sweet Delicious Pink Macaron is just one of the 3 Sweet Delicious Fragrances, the others being Lime Tart and Meringue, which I hunted for but can’t buy because UK doesn’t ship to Germany sometimes. I bought this on ebay for 40 €, it’s 50 ml and a good price for a limited edition DKNY.

The packaging is really cute!! The scent though has not enough sillage for me, only if I spray a lot but it lasts at least 4 hours on me. The fragrance itself is again really fruity and fresh but more sweet and and mature than other DKNY that i tried (too fruity is usually too immature for me, even though I love other bubble gum-like fragrances). It’s difficult to describe, there is a very strong pomegranate note that i like and also smells like roses (which I usually don’t particularly like but here it works). It’s not my signature fragrance but it’s a nice change for me to have something this fruity! It does not smell like macarons though… (I knew that before buying)

Review: Lancome Hypnose Doll Eyes Mascara

Sometimes I just want to try out more expensive mascara because I think that they are expensive for a reason. This one is the Lancome Hypnose Doll Eyes Mascara which I got for about 28 € in a set with a Lancome Eye Make-up Remover and a concealer (that is way too dark for me so I gave it to my mum):

I like Lancome mascara, I had a classic mascara once and I loved it because it wasn’t leaving any clumps on my lashes and was very natural while stil maximizing the volume and the length. This one here is a bit different though.

The brush itself is thicker on the bottom and thins out to the top, I’ve seen such a brush on some cheap p2 and catrice mascara! The design is very cute and simple, the way I like it. The brush has a little bit too much mascara on the top I think…

Let’s see the effect on me:

It does give me length but my lashes look really messy I think. I actually like a very neat and tidy look, so that they are all separated and long with volume but this mascara does the opposite. It gets worse when I start layering it…everything clumps and is kinda glued together. The plus of the mascara is that it is great for the lower lashes, mine are very difficult to do because they are very thin in comparison to the other lashes but long, this one works great with the lower lashes. Still I am not satisfied but I will use it for the lower lashes.

Review: Skin79 Diamond Collection Star Glow Ball Powder

Only recently did my interest for highlighters begin to grow. Before I have never used any but now I would like to sometimes highlight my cheeks a bit to have an extra glow. I ordered a highlighter that I’ve seen before when buying korean make-up, the Skin79 Star Glow Ball Powder! I bought it from rubyruby76 on ebay for 14 $ (shipping included).

Well I was kinda surprised that there were so many green shimmering balls, I would like more pink/rosé colored ones. But that shouldn’t matter for the application right? It came with a little powder-puff but again I rather use my brushes to apply it.

As you can see it is pretty much white, only some green particles and for my taste it is not even glittery enough. I know some people like to have a toned down highlighter but for the occasion that I actually apply highlighter I want the whole shab bang. So for application I just lightly brushed over the powder and than applied it like I would do with a rouge.

Now let’s see how it looks on my face!

Well ehhmm I had to use flash so that at least a little bit was visible but I am disappointed! The highlighter is so weak… maybe others’ might like it but for me it’s definitely not enough glow, even if I cake on some more….Too bad! But this gives me the opportunity to look for a new one haha
