Review: GHD V-gold professional styler classic

Now I’ve been using straighteners and curling irons since forever, I had Babybliss, Remington and Braun, I manly use them to curl my straight hair. Those were never really satisfying because they kept burning and damaging my hair. No need to mention that I always followed the reviews concerning ghd products, I couldn’t believe that it really worked that well.  Last month I went to a hair salon to get my hair cut, and at the end as an extra they even curled it by using the ghd straightening iron. I didn’t expect much, but my hair suddenly felt even better than before, my curls were so bouncy and soft! And the biggest surprise: without even using hair spray the curls stayed with me till the next dayand looked wonderful! That’s when I decided to finally invest 130 € and buy this ghd baby from amazon:
It’s really classy and high quality in its design. I fell in love with it instantly. Best part is that it only needs about 10 seconds to reach the highest temperature that I need and even notifies me with a beep about it:
The little ghd light is sooo cute! The gold ceramic plates are responsible for the shinyness at the end. And here is finally a picture of me before and after using the iron (mind you I have super straight hair and it looks like it does on the picture just after washing and blow drying):
I love that it gives me those wavy locks and not super small ones, furthermore I like my hair only curled from the middle of the length on. I am very satisfied with the iron and I think the money is really really well invested, my hair just doesn’t feel as damaged and broken as it does when using regular curling irons. And they stay like that no matter what! Real professional styler.

Review: Tangle Teezer Compact Styler

I am well aware that almost everybody has the the Tangle Teezer by now, I made the effort to buy it on Asos for 16 € without knowing that DM in Germany has it now, too. At least they don’t have this design haha

I bought it here!
I guess everybody knows what the Tangle Teezer does but I’ll just recap: it detangles your hair. That’s all. But that’s actually a tough job, at least with my hair, that appears to be easy to deal with but is actually a pain in the ass, every brush and comb I use just tears out my hair. Therefore I hate brushing my hair even though it’s essential.
But not anymore with the Tangle Teezer! It glides through my hair like butter! Just amazing and well worth the money!
The compact styler comes with an extra lid to put on so it doesn’t get all dirty in your purse. I have it with me everyday because it’s actually small for a brush and just essential for me! Definitely an HG product for me. And germans can now easily buy it in DM, too!
I look unhappy but it’s actually the opposite haha I’m just concentrating on the magic the Tangle Teezer does with my hair! And the inner Russian in me loves the leopard pattern…

Dry Shampoo Review and Comparison

My latest fascination has been Dry Shampoo. It helps to refresh my hair on the second day, helps me give it more volume and remove the greasiness if I put too much conditioner and so on! Basically the usage is the same as using a hairspray, you just have to watch out for the gray layer you can get from the dry shampoo and brush it out! I tried different ones and will tell my opinion on them: (those are the ones you can get in Germany at least)
1. Balea Trend it up Dry Shampoo, costs 2,45 € in DM, 200 ml. I like it a lot, the smell is pretty fresh and the gray layer isn’t overly strong with this one. My hair feels most refreshed when using this one!
2. + 3. Batiste Dry Shampoo Blush/ Tropical, cost about 3,80 € on Asos, both 200 ml. I love the scent from the Tropical, has a coconut aroma to it! The scent from the Blush is pretty generic, flowery. They are both ok and the gray layer is ok here, you can brush it out easily.
4. Schauma Cotton Fresh Dry Shampoo, costs about 2,50 € in both Müller and DM. I hate this one. It smells like toilet cleaner, so artificial and disgusting. My hair is sooo gray after using this and it’s super hard to brush it out! Don’t buy this one.
And now my favourites:
Those two are great.
The small one is the Lee Stafford Dry Shampoo, it’s pretty expensive for just 50 ml, costs 3,45 €. But it’s great because of the travel size, the smell is nice and it has practically no gray layer to it! Always in my purse!
And the second one is Batiste Dry Shampoo Medium & Brunette, it’s more expensive. too, about 5 € on Asos. It has a hint of color and though it’s a bit lighter than my dark brown hair color it’s a lot nicer to have layers of medium brown in my hair than having a gray layer. The smell is also nice.
[EDIT]: this Dry Shampoo actually leaves real color in my hair, which means, when washing my hair afterwards it is as if I had used semi-permanent hair color and now am washing out the traces of it, leaves brown stains everywhere in the bath room. I don't know WHY I didn't expect this, anyways this is a product I won't buy again.
None of them are outstanding in giving lots of volume though I think. I still love it, it’s way too practical to not use!

Review: Tigi Bed Head Candy Fixations Glaze Haze

I got this as a combined package for about $15, the mini hard head was for free. Always wanted to try something from the candy fixations series!

The Glaze Haze one smells like crème brulee. You’re supposed to put a small amount of it in your towel-dried hair, mostly into the tips. It says it helps against frizzy and fly away hair and that it also speeds up the drying time!

The smell is heavenly!! I just want to use it as a hand lotion haha AND it really does work it’s magic in my hair! My hair is alot smoother after using this and the drying time is significantly reduced.
Only downsides: - Hair gets oily a lot faster after using this, but that’s no wonder.
                          - The smell wears off fast, I mean really fast! You don’t even get to enjoy it fully. (hence my stupid idea to use it as lotion…)
Will maybe buy again because the amount I have to use for it to work is sooo small that it’s really worth the money. (alot better than the frieda products I used against frizzy hair)

Review: Tigi Bed Head After-Party

And again a TIGI product, the After Party smoothing cream. I bought this for about $17 on amazon! It’s a smoothing cream for the hair that prevents fly away hairs and overall smoothens it.
I really have a problem with fly away and frizzy hair…
But there are so few products that actually help and let my hair look natural and not all greased up. You can put this into the hair whenever, after showering or just on dry hair. I use it after drying because then I know the exact amount I need for my hair to become soft but not greasy.
As with the other products that help smoothen the hair you should only use very little! It does work and my hair feels soft, but it’s not a wonder product or something. I don’t have to use hairspray to fix the hair fly away problem (yes I do that, I just make them stick to the rest of the hair lol). The smell is nice as always with Tigi products (except for the hairsprays) and I still have a lot of it left after months of using it!
Not that useless, but won't buy again. Just sits in my cupboard now...
